Warren Littlefield has now been a producer longer than he has been an executive. In his second career, Littlefield has produced shows like FX/Hulu’s Fargo, The Handmaid’s Tale, Dopesick, The Old Man and the upcoming Amanda Knox. In his previous chapter, as entertainment president and head of comedy at NBC, he developed and put on the air such series as The Golden Girls, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Seinfeld, ER, Friends, Frasier, Homicide and Law & Order.

For James Mangold, born in 1963 just after Bob Dylan became an overnight star on the folk scene, Dylan was always out there, somewhere. “I thought he was one of the greats,” he says. “Just a brilliant poet, storyteller, an artist."
Although it took five years to bring A Complete Unknown to the screen, with his screenplay co-written with Jay Cocks, Mangold had Timothée Chalamet right from the start, after a heads-up in Telluride 2019 from Searchlight brass that the actor would be interested.
