Recipe of the Week
Cranberry buttermilk scones
Cranberries are a tart berry that are in season during the fall months. My family serves them every year with our holiday dinners, but usually just as relishes or side dishes. This recipe elevates their potential by baking them into scones.
Since the ingredients call for dried cranberries, you don't have to expect quite as strong a "bite," though their flavor will still certainly shine through.
Speaking of shining, cranberries deserve a gold star for their antioxidant profile. Though dried cranberries lose some nutrient content from processing, you can count on them to still have small amounts of vitamins C, E, and K.
