Home improvement firm to be liquidated | | | The company behind well-known Tyneside conservatory company Pennine Home Improvements is set to be liquidated after directors called a meeting of credtors.
The Benton-based business closed its North Tyneside showroom some time ago, leaving its fleet of trade vans parked outside and a note on the door saying it was closed for renovations.
But the business remained closed after its stated reopening date of June 19, and customers have been left in the dark over how to contact the company over existing or planned home improvement projects with phone lines out of service and online links to the company's website leading to blank pages.
Now a meeting of creditors has been called for Crownfold Ltd – which trades as Pennine Home Improvements – by its owner, which is set to be held online next week. A Yorkshire based insolvency and business recovery specialist is expected to be appointed as liquidator. READ MORE

Big interest in cultivated meat firm | | | A North East firm pioneering cruelty-free meat and leather says it has no intention of slowing, following a busy trading period which has seen it double lab space.
Newcastle based 3D Bio-Tissues has previously told how it is on the cusp of revolutionising food, fashion and healthcare markets with its patent-protected IP which has already created cruelty-free meat, human corneas and skin that could eventually be used to create leather.
The company is owned by BSF Enterprise PLC which is listed on the main London Stock Market, and has issued interim half-year results for highlighting a range of activities, including how it produced three small prototype fillets of meat last November as well as the UK's first full-sized lab cultivated meat fillet in February.
