Adidas posts record UK sales as profits jump

The continuation of changing habits made during successive Covid-19 lockdowns helped the UK arm of Adidas report record sales for its latest financial year.


The division, which is headquartered in Greater Manchester, has seen its turnover jump to £1.2bn while its pre-tax profits also surged to nearly £40m.


BusinessLive can also report that the company created almost 150 jobs during the 12-month period.

Companies behind seven shops that trade under the General Store brand across Greater Manchester have gone into liquidation - though six of the shops themselves are set to stay open.


The firms that operated Deansgate General Store, Media City General Store, Moss Side General Store, Sale Foodhall, Stretford Food Hall, Castlefield General Store and Salford General Store have entered creditors' voluntary liquidation, notices filed with official public record The Gazette have confirmed.


BusinessLive understands that all of the group's stores are to remain open, apart from its Salford location which closed recently.

Sell offs during 'incredible year' help sales jump £300m at Mark Stott's property empire

Property sales helped revenue at Mark Stott's Vita Group jump by more than £300m during its latest financial year, it has been revealed.


The group has posted a revenue of £385.3m for 2021 compared to the £70.5m it reported in 2020.


It also made a pre-tax profit of £25.8m after falling to a £1.9m loss in 2020.


The group has offices in Barcelona, Dubai, Shanghai and Hong Kong while its Its brands include Vita Student, Vita Living, Affinity Living, House of Social, Union and Symphony Park.


It was founded in 2013 by Mark Stott, who also owns Stockport County.
