The Income Tax department will share all taxpayers' data like PAN with Sebi in order to help the capital market regulator in its probe against various entities.
The sharing of information will be under three broad heads: request-based exchange of data, suo moto and automatic. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), which frames policy for the tax department, had issued an order in this context on February 10 under section 138 (1) of the I-T Act. Read more
US President Donald Trump, during his India visit on February 24-25, would participate in a grand roadshow in Ahmedabad.
The US president would also tour the Sabarmati Ashram and inaugurate a newly-built cricket stadium here with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sources have said. Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora has asserted that the electronic voting machines cannot be tampered.
The CEC also said that there was no question of going back to the ballot paper. He said that the Commission would engage with political parties in the coming days on various electoral reforms and the model code.
