Just like that, the busy summer season is upon us. After a couple of very slow years due to COVID-19, our team is extra excited for our calendar of events that we're hosting in-person this summer, which include:
So mark your calendars for the return of the Best of Madison Taste Party and Summer Restaurant Week, and we're also happy to introduce a brand new event, Very Asian Week, put on in collaboration with and benefitting The Very Asian Foundation.

Michelle Li, an award-winning journalist and the co-founder of The Very Asian Foundation, is a friend and former colleague of mine. She even wrote a monthly column for the magazine! She called me up and told me she'd be back in town (as would Alice Choi, aka @hipfoodiemom1) in July, and asked if Madison Magazine wanted to help put on an event to support the foundation. We couldn't be more proud to help host a panel discussion and week of specials that spotlight what it means to be Very Asian in Madison. Check out the Very Asian Week link above for more details.

Very Asian Week is just the start of our busy summer of community events. And we can hardly believe our Best of Madison issue will drop on July 21, a little over a month away. Take a look at what else is planned for the Best of Madison issue below. (We even give a small hint at the Best of Madison theme this year. 🌿)

Feature Story
One Home, Two Families
An American family and a Ukrainian family were separated by 5,000 miles but forever united as friends. Then the war upended all of their lives. Now, as one Ukrainian mother and her two children seek refuge in their friends' already-full Fitchburg home, the larger community comes together to help both families grapple with what happened, who was left behind and what comes next.
