This week saw shares in N Brown, the retail giant between JD Williams, Simply Be and Jacamo, surge after it reported its full-year results.

it was a tougher week for Victorian Plumbing as it braced for a "modest" growth in revenue during the second half of its financial year because of the "ongoing inflationary cost pressures".

The Skelmersdale-headquartered firm added it remains "acutely aware that our customers are also managing these pressures" and that it will continue its "careful approach to price rises".

Founder and chief executive Mark Radcliffe said that Victorian Plumbing "remains the go-to online retailer for consumers who are looking for bathroom products".

BusinessLive also reported that the chief executive of Boohoo could receive a bonus worth 200% of his £652,000 salary if he meets a number of targets over the next three years.

The group has unveiled a new long-term incentive plan (LTIP) in its annual report which would see John Lyttle benefit if various targets such as revenue, earnings growth and ESG markers are achieved.

Mr Lyttle would also gain £50m if the company's stock market capitalisation increased to £5.6bn by 2024.

Plans were also unveiled this week for a £30m office building in south Manchester, which would be one the UK's lowest carbon workspaces, have been outlined.

Bruntwood Works is behind the proposal for land at Didsbury Technology Park that would be called The Ev0 Building if Manchester City Council gives the scheme the green light.

If planning permission is granted, Ev0 would be set over 82,000 sq ft across six floors and sit between the Sir William Siemens House, Spire Hospital and Bruntwood Works' Ohm Building.
