| MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL'S HIGH ART MONSTER PIC COULD LOSE $90M |
It was a complete rejection by moviegoers around the world this weekend as Maggie Gyllenhaal’s $80M bride of Frankenstein monster movie, The Bride!, opened to $13.6M. Of that, domestic was $7.3M, not only breaking Warner Bros’ nine-picture No. 1 opening streak at the B.O., but registering a debut that was lower than that for some recent misfires by the Burbank, CA lot, including last year’s disasters Mickey 17 ($19M) and Companion ($9.3M). Industry sources, not Warners, believe the loss on The Bride! could approach $90M in its first cycle after home entertainment downstream. Warner Bros had no comment about the movie’s P&L which includes $65M in worldwide P&A. Bad timing for a loss as WBD CEO David Zaslav just cashed in $114M+ in stocks due to a trading window opening for executives involved in any deal negotiations. >>>Uphill Battle During Production Related: Sunday AM Box Office Update |

The Last Orbit is speculative fiction about the asteroid YR4, which has a statistically significant chance of hitting Earth or the moon in 2032. >>> To Be Published In Q1 2027 | The third episode of Season 2 of The Last Thing He Told Me, titled “Reunion” provides multiple opportunities for the word to apply, the first being Hannah (Jennifer Garner) reconnecting with her mother, Carol (Rita Wilson). “It was a real change of pace for us. [At first it]’s like, go, go, go, and then we just pause for a moment. Miguel Arteta directed that episode. I’ve done two movies with him and several episodes of things over the years,” Garner told Deadline of working with the Yes Day director. “He’s one of my very, favorite, most trusted friends and directors, and I knew I was in really good hands, and that I could relax into whatever was meant to be." >>> Read The Interview |
