Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Rob Reiner and Michelle Reiner, was arrested late Sunday and booked in the early morning hours of Monday in connection with the death of his parents. The Oscar-nominated Rob Reiner and his wife were found dead yesterday afternoon in their Brentwood home. Police had been investigating the crime throughout the night, but other than confirming they had been interviewing family members had few details to provide in an evening press conference Sunday and didn’t even confirm the victims’ names. According to LAPD records, Nick Reiner was booked at 5:04 a.m. PT this morning. Bail has been set at $4 million. Nick Reiner, 32, is one of Rob and Michele Reiner’s three children. He has been open about his struggles with addiction. The 2015 film Being Charlie, co-written by Nick and directed by Rob Reiner, was loosely based on Nick’s experience with addiction.
