Brewers fans, there's a very special gate giveaway for the upcoming Aug. 12 game against the Pittsburgh Pirates — the first 10,000 fans to enter American Family Field will get a T-shirt designed by local illustrator and artist Emily Balsley.

In more local sports news: Last night, the Madison Night Mares won the Northwoods League Softball Championship in front of a home crowd at Warner Park. Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Coach of the Year honors also went to members of the Night Mares' team.

If you missed last night's championship, fret not: The Madison Mallards' last home game is this Saturday, Aug. 9, so there's still a chance to take yourself out to the ball game.

"In the 608" with News 3 Now's Josh Spreiter

The most recent highlights from Josh Spreiter's "In the 608" morning segment on News 3 Now

From Josh: On Monday, News 3 Now kicked off the Back-to-School Supply Drive, a two-week initiative to make sure students in Dane County have all the essential supplies they need to start the school year. We'll be collecting supplies again on Aug. 15, but you can also drop off donations at any Walgreens or Boys & Girls Club location in Dane County.

Next Friday, Aug. 16, the Iowa County Cancer Coalition will host its annual fundraiser at the Lands' End Comer Center. Proceeds from this event directly support cancer patients in Iowa County. There will be food, ice cream, drinks and music — and, of course, it's all for a great cause.

Watch the rest of this week's In the 608 segments here.

Josh Spreiter is an Emmy award-winning anchor/reporter for News 3 Now This Morning.
