In more local sports news: Last night, the Madison Night Mares won the Northwoods League Softball Championship in front of a home crowd at Warner Park. Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Coach of the Year honors also went to members of the Night Mares' team. We'll be collecting supplies again on Aug. 15, but you can also drop off donations at any Walgreens or Boys & Girls Club location in Dane County. Next Friday, Aug. 16, the Iowa County Cancer Coalition will host its annual fundraiser at the Lands' End Comer Center. Proceeds from this event directly support cancer patients in Iowa County.
