Israel Strikes Iran

Israel launched a series of retaliatory strikes against military targets in Iran, according to a spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which was announced amid reports of explosions heard near the Iranian capital, Tehran.

"Minutes ago several powerful explosions have been heard near Tehran. The origin of the sound is not known yet," said an anchor on Iranian state media.

IDF spokesman Rear Adminar Daniel Hagari said in a video statement posted on social media that, with the strikes, Israel is asserting its right and duty to defend itself against attacks from multiple fronts by Iran and its regional proxies, including strikes coming from Iranian territory directly. Iran launched a massive ballistic missile attack against Israel on Oct. 1, though the barrage was blunted by Israeli missile defense, which was assisted by two U.S. naval destroyers. Boys in Crisis

Boys in America are nearly 4 times more likely to commit suicide than girls, up to three times more likely to die from an overdose, 14 times more likely to end up in jail, and half as likely to go to university.

There's a crisis among boys, and the biggest driver is the rise in single-parent families without a father, says Warren Farrell, co-author of "The Boy Crisis: Why Our Boys Are Struggling and What We Can Do About It." The number of fatherless homes has sharply risen in the last century.

Compared to girls, boys have been shown to suffer significantly more without a father figure in their lives, Farrell says in an interview with our colleague Jan Jekielek on American Thought Leaders. In particular, boys who grow up without fathers often do not learn delayed gratification—the single biggest predictor of success in life.
