'SNL,' The Movie - After helping relaunch the Ghostbusters franchise for Sony Pictures, Jason Reitman is reuniting with the studio to tell the behind-the-scenes story for the premiere of one of the most iconic shows in TV history: Saturday Night Live. | Exclusive Pedro Pascal is in final negotiations to join Ridley Scott’s untitled Gladiator sequel for Paramount. He will team with Paul Mescal, who stars as Lucius, as well as Barry Keoghan, Joseph Quinn, Connie Nielsen and Denzel Washington. Exclusive Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal are in talks to star in an adaptation of Hamnet for Amblin Partners, Hera Pictures, Neal Street Productions and Book of Shadows. Chloé Zhao will direct the film based on the novel by Maggie O’Farrell, who will adapt the script with Zhao. Exclusive Zoey Deutch is set to co-star in the Warner Bros and Clint Eastwood pic Juror #2 starring Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette. Jonathan Abrams penned the script. Adam Goodman, Matt Skiena, Tim Moore and Jessica Meier will produce. Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story will tell the story of the brothers, who were convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents. In addition to the scripted series, Netflix also has exclusive access to Lyle and Erik Menendez for a forthcoming documentary feature. 💰 The Gersh Agency has sold a 45% stake to New York-based private equity firm Crestview Partners. Gersh hasn’t divulged the amount of equity its new partner is investing, but both sides said the aim is to accelerate Gersh’s domestic and international growth by expanding firm resources to support a growing staff and client roster. He was 84. 🕯 Tim Bachman, the co-founding guitarist and vocalist for Canadian rock band Bachman-Turner Overdrive, died Friday from complications with cancer.
