 | CHONGQING -- Toyota Motor can't seem to catch a break. A joint-venture vehicle plant in the Chinese city of Chengdu has been told to stop working until Saturday to conserve power amid a blistering heat wave, the automaker says. The forced shutdown is the latest example of production troubles hitting Japanese multinationals in China, after COVID-19 lockdowns in Shanghai and other cities. Toyota is already struggling with a chip shortage that has delayed deliveries of Lexus and other models. Read here
