Hong Kong continues its quixotic campaign against Covid

| The Hong Kong government is making every effort to spread unjustified fear to justify Covid-19 rules and quarantines which make the territory a figure of fun for many in the rest of the world (except the rest of the PRC) while reminding others of the hysteria of the Cultural Revolution. Just how deceitful it is was implicitly revealed on August 29 by the Chief Manager of the Hospital Authority, Dr. Lau Ka-hin (above). The official news has long regaled the public with the threats to the hospital system posed by the rising number of Covid cases – now officially about 9,000 a day. Daily the government announces numbers of Covid patients in hospitals and numbers needing intensive care, in serious or critical condition. Likewise, there is a daily toll of alleged Covid deaths. However, as Dr. Lau remarked, the numbers for hospitalization were of those who had tested positive once in the past 28 days. He said: “They might have recovered but had to stay in hospital due to other reasons such as heart problems or surgery”…
