Elsewhere this week, Gary Neville's Relentless Group confirmed it had partnered with the property developer owned by Betfred founder Fred Done to build a 40-storey tower at its St Michael's scheme in Manchester city centre.

Salboy will lead the project, which forms the second phase of the scheme, after signing a joint venture agreement.

The tower will include a five-star hotel with 161 beds, 181 serviced residences and a "multitude of design-led amenity and leisure spaces".

BusinessLive also reported that hundreds of staff at train operator Avanti West Coast are set to be balloted for strike action in a dispute over pay, conditions and job security.

Rail union TSSA is behind the move, with ballot papers set to be sent out on June 15.

If approved by members, a strike could take place as early as July 13.

The news came after the dates of the biggest outbreak of strike action in the rail industry in a generation were revealed.
