Last week saw the second of the heats for the North East Business Awards, with Hebburn training firm eQuality Solutions named as Durham, Sunderland and South Tyneside Company of the Year.
The Hebburn firm - which triumphed over competition from Premier Roof Systems and Cell Pack Solutions - has been growing rapidly in recent years after a finance package allowed it to complete a number of acquisitions of companies in its sector.
The event returned to Ramside Hall after a two-year gap for the pandemic. Other winners on the night included Unipres UK, Artech Lighting, Coote O'Grady and Evidence Based Education.

CF's plant at Billingham survived after it opted to close a site at Ince, Cheshire, but there will still be redundancies on Teesside.

| It would have been the big deal of the year, but Parkdean Resorts - sold for £1.3bn in 2016 - has halted its sale process over concerns about the state of the economy.
The company said that it had "decided to pause the process and will revisit when the macro economic backdrop has improved."
