In a Nutshell
I know there are a lot of summer lovers out there, but I'm not one of them. Fall is my favorite season, and I've been waiting for it to come back around since it ended last year. I love the chillier weather, seasonal desserts (apple cider donuts!), and not sweating as much. Seeing the colors of the leaves change in the mountains where I live always fills me with joy and awe.
Need a reminder of all the goodness that we have to look forward to this season? Keep reading!

What do you love about the fall season?
what's got us buzzing
What do you love about the fall season?
"I find it easier to be active in the fall! It's cooler, so I can go on a walk anytime throughout the day instead of being restricted to the early morning or late evening. I've also attended more of my pickup sand volleyball league." — Sarah Choi, associate editor
"It feels more like a new beginning than January 1. That's partly an echo of the school year starting in September, but also because summer is a good time to get out and do, while fall is a time to reflect on what you've got out and done, what you want to do more of, and what it's time to leave behind forever. It's also a very sensory season, with changing colors, crackling fires, richer foods, and darker drinks. I love it second only to late spring." — Tim Snaith, newsletter editor
"I sleep better in the fall because the sun rises later, so that's a net benefit for my overall health. I also feel less irritable when the weather cools down. Emotionally, it's a time of celebration. My introspective personality suits the darker months better than the summertime." — Ginger Wojcik, newsletter editor
"Agree with what others are saying! I find it easier to go outside and be active. I love wearing cozy boots and a sweater or vest out and about. The coziness also motivates me to make tea more than in the summer." — Ren Dias, editor
"Like many others, I find myself going outside for longer periods of time once the weather cools a bit in the fall. Mushroom walks in the woods are a favorite. I love seeing the late flowers in their late stages, the sound of the crickets slowing, the change in colors in the leaves. I love wearing warm layers, bringing out the heavier blankets, and making ritual hot drinks part of my routine." — Naomi Wilde, engagement editor
