Dear ,
During my daily scrolling session one day (don't judge me), I came across this video of a woman working out in a gym. Nothing special about it – except that she was doing it with a baby strapped to her!
The workout was pretty intense too, and the woman looked fit and strong. Looking at her, I was both exhausted and impressed! What an amazing Mom!
Then, I read the caption.
Turns out, that wasn't her baby – it was her grandbaby!
At this point, I admit that my jaw hit the floor.
A grandmother was able to do all those tough exercises, with a baby strapped to her chest. It just goes on to show that age truly is just a number. Your youth is in your hands – take good care of yourself and you can stay young for as long as you want!
I had been slacking off on my workouts for a few days, and this video came at the right time. It prompted me to get off the couch and go for a walk – I could scroll on the phone later!
I think we women need reminders like this, especially since we often tend to get overwhelmed with other responsibilities. In such scenarios, the first casualty is usually our own health and well-being. We put off our workouts, our walks, our sleep, our nutrition, thinking we'll deal with it later.
Only, later never comes.
That's why we need these reminders. Come to think of it, October is chock full of them – 13th is Breast Cancer Awareness Day, 18th is World Menopause Day, and 20th is World Osteoporosis Day.
That's a lot when it comes to health reminders!
So if you've been neglecting your health lately, consider this your personal reminder to get up and take action. It can be anything – go for a walk, do some stretches, prep a healthy meal or at least drink a glass of water. Start small, and keep it going!
Cheers
