Here's how to play the Hand You're Dealt

Hello readers! At Bezzy Migraine, we've been thinking about all the challenges people face when it comes to getting the healthcare we need and deserve— especially if you're a woman diagnosed with a chronic illness. Many factors determine whether you're fortunate or not when navigating the healthcare system, while your physical and mental health are at stake. We started to imagine these factors—age, appearance, income, race, education, location, family situation—as spaces or cards in a game. Some things increase your advantage and help you advance in the game (think "move forward 2 spaces"). Others are obstacles that make your path more difficult (think "skip your turn"). That's why we named our newest content series, The Hand You're Dealt.
