In the most recent installment of the "God's Not Dead" franchise, Cain plays a villain. It's a marked departure from his earlier roles as the squeaky clean Clark Kent.
Cain's choice to reprise the character comes down to the movie's clear moral message. He sees it as a way to emphasize the impact that spirituality and right action has on our lives without being preachy.
