This news comes hot off the heels of similar decisions made by retail behemoths like Walmart (in 2019) and Target (way back in 1996). It appears Stop & Shop wants to keep up appearances, joining the ranks of trendsetters CVS – which ditched tobacco sales in 2014 and claims to have prevented some 100 million additional cigarette packets from hitting shelves within just the first year post-ban. |
