Leicestershire metal factory confirms closure with hundreds of jobs at risk     Hundreds of jobs could be lost after a Leicestershire metal factory confirmed its closure. Bosses said the move had been made with "great sadness" as production leaves the UK altogether. The fate of the Saint-Gobain PAM UK site in Holwell, near Melton, had been left uncertain after its owners put forward proposals to close the foundry back in March. Consultations looked to move production of access covers and gratings to a sister site in France after management said Covid-19 and Brexit had made the Leicestershire site "uncompetitive".   Read more

Group forms to bring back Lincoln Christmas Market with local focus     A new group has formed with the collective aim of bringing back Lincoln Christmas Market on a smaller and more sustainable scale. The Unique Business Group is partnering with third sector groups to "reimagine" Christmas in Lincoln after the market was cancelled in 2023. The group said it was aiming to take all the best features of the previous market and create a smaller version which celebrated local businesses, artisans and vendors. Unique Business Group said: "By harnessing the collective expertise and resources of our partners, we are confident in creating a market that not only celebrates the holiday season but also contributes to the local economy and community."   Read more
