Sales and profits surge at Andy Murray and Issa brothers-backed Castore as it creates almost 140 jobs Sales and profits surged at Castore, the sportswear brand backed by Andy Murray and the billionaire owners of Asda, as it created almost 140 jobs during its latest financial year. The company designs, manufacturers and sells Castore and sports team branded apparel and accessories through online, physical stores and wholesale partners. It has deals with the likes of England Cricket, McLaren F1, Newcastle United, Salford City, Silverstone, Le Mans and Harlequins. It most recently signed a deal with F1 team Red Bull. Castore was recently valued at £750m after it secured a £50m secured revolving credit facility from BNP Paribas, HSBC UK Bank plc and Silicon Valley Bank UK. Read the full story here

Group behind luxury Lake District hotels hails 'exceptional' year as staycations lead to record results Turnover and profits at a group of luxury Lake District hotels have jumped to record levels as they bounced back from the Covid-19 pandemic. Lake District Hotels Ltd, which is run by the Graves family, owns Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa near Keswick, Inn on the Lake, Glenridding, Borrowdale Hotel as well as In on the Square, Skiddaw Hotel and Kings Arms Hotel in Keswick. New PM will decide whether to go ahead with October 31 fiscal plan The new Prime Minister will have to decide whether to go ahead with the planned Halloween statement setting out how the Government intends to get the public finances back on track, Downing Street has said. Work is continuing in Whitehall, led by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt, in preparation for the medium-term fiscal plan to be announced on October 31 along with an updated set of economic forecasts from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).
