Scottsdale Faces Airport Crash Lawsuit
The city of Scottsdale signaled that it plans to fight a lawsuit over a February 2025 plane crash at the local airport, brought by a company owned by Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil.
The claim stems from an incident in which Neil's Learjet veered off the runway and struck a parked Gulfstream, killing the pilot and injuring four others. Neil was not on board. The lawsuit alleges Scottsdale Airport allowed a plane to park in an unauthorized safety zone, creating a hazard for landing aircraft. Federal investigators cited landing gear failure as a possible cause of the plane's veering off. |
Lottery Ticket Dispute Ongoing
The ownership dispute over a $12.8 million lottery ticket continues, with Circle K asking a judge to suspend any actions involving the ticket until the case is settled.
The case centers on a ticket printed at a Scottsdale Circle K last November that a customer never paid for and left behind. The ticket turned out to be a $12.8 million winner.
Court filings say a store manager allegedly learned the next morning that the winning ticket had been printed and left at the store, located the ticket, clocked off work, and bought the ticket.
The dispute centers on whether the purchase was legitimate or a misuse of insider knowledge. The Arizona Lottery's deadline for claiming the jackpot is May 23.
