Atlanta city officials are celebrating the success of the city's 2025 Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), which helped nearly 6,000 teens and young adults find jobs and gain work experience this season.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, who relaunched the SYEP in 2022, opened registration for the program to individuals aged 14 to 24 in March of last year.

In 2024, the program assisted over 5,700 Atlanta youth in securing jobs, with wages totaling $6.8 million.

"Graduating high school, summer time's here, finding yourself not doing anything. You have your passions, your dreams sitting in your head, and you really just want to put that stuff to work," said Zan Harris, a recent high school graduate who participated in the SYEP.
