TOKYO -- Domestic travelers in Japan are expected to spend a record amount of money in the upcoming New Year's holiday period, with many seeking to make up for lost time from COVID-19 despite surging prices.   That's according to travel agency JTB, which saw travelers spending 41,000 yen ($278) per person during the period from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3.
