The inspirational women featuring in 'life after cancer' calendar

A woman from Alsagers Bank who was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer is featuring in a calendar for 2024 along with a group of women who have all been diagnosed with cancer. Flick Rackstraw and the Pink Sisters support group, based in Meir, decided to create the calendar - titled 'Life After Cancer' - to show that people can still have fun and achieve even after being diagnosed with cancer.


The 46-year-old was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer in May 2022 after finding a lump three months prior, and has undergone rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and a lumpectomy along with various different medications.

A condition called DSD means runner Caster Semenya cannot compete in female track events without taking drugs. She says she is not ashamed to be different and will continue to "fight for what is right" in her ongoing battle with authorities.


In an interview with BBC, the two-time Olympic champion opened up about being born with DSD which stands for Differences in Sexual Development which means she lives with an elevated level of testosterone.
