Apple stated that these apps violated its rules and guidelines for the Apple Developer Program License Agreement. In 2022, the App Store declined nearly 1.7 million app submissions and prevented over $2 billion in fraudulent transactions.

A Canadian judge has recognized the "thumbs-up" emoji as a valid form of signature.
