 | TOKYO -- Japan is officially open to foreign tourists today after being closed for two years, and the government is already considering letting more people in to revive the pandemic-battered tourism sector. Ahead of Friday's reopening, the daily entry cap was doubled to 20,000 people. Now, discussions are underway to raise that ceiling to between 30,000 and 50,000 people or scrap it completely. Visits are limited to supervised tour groups for now. Officials hope the unusually weak yen will attract more visitors -- and money -- to its shores. However, not all are on board.
