The half term and jubilee bank holiday have made for a reasonably quiet week on the North East business scene, but there has still been news from some of our biggest companies.


Bakery chain Greggs has signalled the creation of more than 100 jobs with the expansion of its main Tyneside production site.


Plans submitted to North Tyneside Council are seeking approval for the demolition of redundant buildings and the creation of a new production line.

Meanwhile, transport firm Go-Ahead is hoping to crack the Paris bus market after agreeing a partnership with a French operator.


The link-up with Groupe Lacroix & Savac follows a move to put routes out to tender as state-owned Epic RATP will lose its monopoly in 2025. READ MORE.
