The medicine should also not be used without the advice of the doctors.

The study was conducted jointly by Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, GD Hospital and Diabetes Institute, Diabetes Foundation, Fortis C-DOC Hospital and NDOC in the country. In the research done on about 1400 patients, it has been found that the effect of this medicine has been found in those who are corona infected and even if they have not taken the vaccine. Pregnant women and young children were not included in this research. Dr. Anoop Mishra, Director, Fortis C-DOC said that in this study it has been found that the use of Molnupiravir drug has helped in reducing the risk of hospitalization and death of patients. This research was started from October 15 last year. Which was completed on 5th January. It has also been found in this that people who did not take the corona vaccine. They are at higher risk than the Omicron variant. Molnupiravir has been found to be effective in these patients. Only adults and non-pregnant women were included in the research. It has been published in the medical journal Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome.

Pregnant women should not take this medicine

Professor Dr. Neeraj Nischal, Department of Medicine, AIIMS, says that Molnupiravir medicine is not for all patients of Corona. Pregnant women should not take this medicine. Due to its consumption, you may have to face problems like diarrhea and nausea. Women who are planning pregnancy should also not take Molnupiravir. Even if lactating women take this medicine, then they can breastfeed the baby only four days after the last dose. ICMR DG Dr. Balram Bhargava also said that if a pregnant woman takes this medicine. If so, it can cause problems in the development of his child. It should be used with great care.
